A balloon shade gets its name from its decorative puffy bottom. While the top is tailored like a Roman shade, the balloon shade is softer, with billows of fabric at the bottom. Like the Roman shade, a balloon shade is usually installed on a mounting board. A vertical row of rings allows you to adjust the length of the shade to your liking. This window treatment is a good way to gain an elegant look without using a great deal of fabric or covering the window too much. Because of its full, soft construction, this shade doesn’t demand extremely precise measurement.
